Camping World - New Shocks - Not!

Earlier in the week we got a call from Camping World to tell us that the shocks we had ordered four months earlier and that had been on B/O, were finally in. As soon as Dale got home at 3:00pm we headed south once again. We headed to Camping World in Burlington, arriving about 8:30 after stopping for a little shopping and dinner at Applebee’s in Bellingham. We watched TV and cuddled up cozy and warm - I love my Navion and I’m really looking forward to our trip away in February.
We woke early Saturday and into the store we went. We spent a while browsing and waiting for the Rig. After a while they called us over to the service desk - that didn’t take long. We were wrong - they had received the wrong shocks and couldn’t do the job. They were still working on the battery charging problem though. We sometimes had dead batteries when dry camping and they wouldn’t recharge while driving or start the generator. Important for us as we do a lot of dry camping. We passed another hour or so and finally they were finished - the problem had been a $32. relay plus diagnose and repair (won't tell you what that cost but "It's a Mercedes you know!") -all fixed now.

Being early afternoon and with not much else on the agenda we decided to head over to Angel of the Winds - one of our favourite spots. We arrived in time for Fish and Chips from Katie's Kitchen and then a relaxing afternoon watching movies. We played a few table games after dinner - more or less breaking even, and then went off to bed - once more warm and cozy. Not long after I fell asleep I was woken by a loud engine type noise. It went on and on all night - waking me every once in a while and making it hard to fall back asleep. There was also a heavy rain and once again a very strong wind that made the Rig shake. I finally got up about 7:30 and tried to make tea and was dismayed on finding the kettle not working. There had been a power outage and the noise all night was the Casino’s generator running. We went into the casino but Katie's Kitchen was closed and we didn’t want the Champagne Brunch so disappointedly we decided to head out. One of the staff told us to go to Guest services so we did and they refunded our money for the RV site - really nice of them when it really wasn’t their fault but the weather. We headed north once more and decided to try Skagit Casino’s brunch - we had heard it was really good. We were very disappointed in it, especially so since they won’t let you park an RV in their lot - they make you park at the back of the service station across the street and take their shuttle up to the hotel/casino. A stop or two in Bellingham for last minute shopping and then home about 3:30 PM - another great weekend away.
