Happy Birthday at Porteau Cove

Birthday Pie!
Our grandson Jacob's birthday fell during spring break this year so we decided to go to one of our favourite local camping spots - Porteau Cove for a few days. We had a fun four days - two in beautiful sunshine and two in the pouring rain.
Ivy - trying not to get wet!

Let's at least keep the shoes dry...

...Let's keep the jacket dry too!

To heck with it - go get wet!

A lot of fun was had by us all - Gramps, Nana, Kelly, Dillon, Kasey, Jacob, Ivy and Henry.

We beachcombed, crabbed, hiked, rock-climbed,roasted weenies and marshmallows, watched some great movies, coloured, read, and played DS's! The fun and good times were endless.

Angel of the Winds - March 13-15

During the week I had called and made reservations for our friends and ourselves for Saturday night at Angel of the Winds Casino. We had agreed to meet Tony and Allison at Silver Reef after work on Friday and we arrived about 9:30 PM to find their RV empty. What? - no wave to come in and park beside them? Figuring they had gone inside after tiring of waiting for us we went in search and soon found them. A  little fun and it was soon off to bed.
The next morning, after a quick breakfast, off we went to do a little shopping. We stopped at Winco to pick up a few things and then to my favorite place - Camping World! I soon learned that Tony loves it as much as I did. A little disappointed that I didn't get any good deals but Tony got a good one on a camp cot so I had to be happy with that. Dale picked up a thingy-ma-jig to stop the drip in the shower and off we went.
Happy Hour at "Angel of the Wind" after a full day of shopping

We stopped in Burlington for lunch at an Oriental Buffet right across from the mall. We'd been there before but Allison and Tony hadn't but we all enjoyed it. By late afternoon we were already to head off for fun at Angel. We got checked in and spent a fun evening with our friends. The next morning we had the Breakfast Buffet and then off home again. Another fun get away ending to soon.
