Tuesday morning we were once again on the road to our destination of Shoshone. We had a bit of a laugh starting out as Dale once again didn’t understand the “take the next exit right” and nearly missed it and we had Bob right behind us wondering what we were doing! We travelled east on the #58 to Barstow and joined the I-15 until we turned off to the #127 at Baker. We stopped for lunch at Peggy Sue’s 50’s Diner at Yermo on the way. We enjoyed the Desert scenery along the #127 until Tecopa and Tecopa Hot Springs and then turned off to visit China Ranch Date Farm - a place we’d been before but the others hadn’t. After having a fun walk through the Date Orchards and seeing the other interesting artifacts there, we filled up on some Dates and then continued on to Shoshone - another wonderful little Oasis we had been to previously. We had planned to stay for a few days, relaxing in the warmth of the sun and lay around and/or soak in the mineral spring fed pool but as it was in the mid 50 degrees F. with a biting cold wind we decided to head off to Vegas a little sooner.
